WILLEMSTAD - The police increasingly must intervene in traffic accidents because one of the drivers does not have his or her papers in order. These are vehicle tax, insurance, and inspection card.
Traffic checks also show that many drivers do not wear their seat belts. They are also on the telephone while driving. Children younger than 12 often sit in the front, even babies are transported loose on the lap.
The police say they will increase the number of traffic checks for these types of violations.
