WILLEMSTAD - Minister of Economic Development Steven Martina wants to talk further with the Netherlands about liquidity support and setting up a support fund. A few months ago, the Netherlands came up with the proposal of a Caribbean Reform Entity (CHE for its Dutch abbreviation). Martina then called this a form of neo-colonialism. Now he says he would rather have a Reform and Development Entity, abbreviated in Dutch HOE. He writes that on his Facebook page.
Martina also emphasizes that a positive and constructive mentality can ensure that many obstacles can be overcome in consultation with the Netherlands. As a result, Curaçao could face the consequences of the Covid-19 crisis.
