WILLEMSTAD - Aqualectra employees can earn a maximum of 12,700 guilders per month in the future. Which amounts to 27.5 percent lower than the maximum salary in the current wage structure of the public company. This was reported by the director Darick Jonis in a letter to the unions of the utility company.
The reason is the Act on Standards for Top Incomes. According to this law, the maximum salary in all government-affiliated companies and foundations may not exceed 263,000 guilders.
This amount is in addition to the salary, social contributions, holiday pay, bonus and all other allowances. Parliament will shortly be discussing the law that regulates this.
