WILLEMSTAD - Last weekend, the Ministry for Economic Development (MEO), in collaboration with the Special Laws Unit (UBW) and the fire department, again carried out checks with regard to the corona measures.
On Friday, twenty entertainment venues were checked. One warning was issued and eight fines were issued.
On Sunday, 23 more checks took place. Two businesses were closed, six were fined and three were warned for non-compliance with the corona measures.
Most fines were issued out because customers were not registered or because staff did not wear a facemask. The closures were due to not having a permit.
