WILLEMSTAD - It was decided to extend the curfew (toke de keda) and stay at home (keda kas) and also the license plate of the day (plachi di dia) by another two (2) weeks until Monday 11 May.
The hard measures hurt, but were taken in the crisis team on the basis of strict guidelines that have proven very effective so far. We continue to evaluate daily how we can gradually return to the most normal life possible. So that we can move again, and business can start up again.
I have a lot of understanding and I know you would like to get out of your house. The major difficulty with this virus is that it is an invisible threat. If it were a hurricane and we were asked to stay at home, no doubt everyone would. The COVID-19 virus is the invisible enemy.
There are many uncertainties about our work, our existence, our families. But let's hold on for a while. The more we follow the rules, the sooner we can relax. We need everyone for that. We have to do it together.
