MFK criticizes new reform proposal

Local | By Correspondent October 8, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - Opposition party MFK still criticizes the conditions that the Netherlands has set for financial support to Curaçao. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Rhuggenaath announced that there will no longer be a Caribbean Reform Entity, but that Curaçao and the Netherlands have agreed on an Entity for Reform and Development.

Charles Cooper of the MFK says in response that one can tell that Christmas is on the way. "They changed the wrapping paper and renamed it. But it is and will remain the same."

The party states that Rhuggenaath has agreed to a Kingdom Act. But according to Cooper Curaçao has not asked for that at all. He also criticizes the way in which the government provides information piece by piece and not everything is discussed with parliament at once.
