WILLEMSTAD - According to several sources, political party MFK is no longer welcome as an account holder at Maduro & Curiel’s Bank.
Party member Rigo Thodé also confirmed this to the media on behalf of the party. The bank itself does not comment, but according to Thodé, MCB has given the reason that several party members have recently been convicted.
Rigo believes that the bank's position is unjustified and points out that the bank itself was recently involved in various criminal cases. He did not want to specify which cases he meant and referred us to the bank itself.
It is not clear yet what the opposition party will do now and if they will have problems opening an account at another bank.
