MFK will not work with PAR

Local | By Correspondent January 15, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - The political party MFK, currently, on the opposition benches, does not intend to cooperate with the PAR. The party took the trouble to explicitly state that a coalition with the PAR is out of the question after Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath declared earlier this week that he was open to cooperation.

The MFK believes that the PAR has done little good for Curaçao. Furthermore, MFK says that the yellow party has caused a lot of damage to the MFK and has seriously insulted members of the party several times.

The decision not to form a coalition with the PAR was taken on January 12 during a members' meeting, the party said on Thursday evening.

MFK claims to have been approached by several members of the PAR to join. At least one recently departed PAR parliamentarian and a Member of Parliament who resigned in 2016 have registered with MFK and have also been admitted. Who they are, the party did not disclose.
