WILLEMSTAD - The break for the next school year will still take place from 11 to 14 October. Education Minister Sithree van Heydoorn announced this in a letter to the school boards.
The minister announced last week that the holiday would be brought forward one week to the week of October 3, but now the original dates are being retained. This is because in terms of timing too little account was taken to travels that had already been booked by parents and teachers.
Van Heydoorn indicates that he never intended to create an uncomfortable situation. The new holiday schedule will now be determined in accordance with the regulations.
