WILLEMSTAD - A 23-year-old Dutch soldier in Curaçao was arrested on Sunday, October 18 after a violent incident. He is said to have used violence against another soldier, possibly under the influence of narcotics.
The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee announced this today. The man was arrested near his home by the Curaçao police. The officers had received a report of an incident at a house. Because the suspect is a military officer, he was handed over to the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee.
The suspect is still in custody. The Marechaussee is conducting an investigation under the leadership of the Public Prosecution Service of Curaçao (OM). Due to the ongoing investigation, no more information can be provided.
