Militia better protected during self-defense lessons

Local | By Correspondent October 18, 2019

WILLEMSTAD - In 2017, a Curmil soldier was injured in his face during self-defense lessons at the Suffisant barracks.

The navy says it has now taken measures to prevent a recurrence. For example, the soldier did not wear a protective face covering during the fighting training.

The Navy has now drawn up further rules and has introduced a manual to support instructors.
