Minister Cijntje plans to cut considerably in 'Red Tape'

Local | By Correspondent September 23, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - As reported yesterday, there is finally a Minister of Economic Development in the Pisas cabinet: Ruisandro Cijntje from the PNP party. After he was sworn in, Cijntje spoke to the press for the first time as a minister. He indicated, among other things, that it is his intention to stimulate the economy of Curaçao again and that a lot needs to be done to achieve this.

He also mentioned bureaucracy as an obstacle and plans to do something about it as well. It could be deduced from his words that the new regime entails a new approach and that considerable cuts will be made in the 'red tape'.

The new minister says he will now enter into talks with the ministry to see which plans and projects are still ongoing. Cijntje has indicated that he believes that there is no time to lose in starting the new plans, because Curacao no longer has any real reserves.

The new minister is sure that his team will work hard to get the country out of the situation it has been in for so long.
