WILLEMSTAD - Aqualectra will start in August with a test for a pagatinu system for water. This was announced by Minister of Economic Development Ruisandro Cijntje in response to parliamentary questions.
The MAN faction asked the minister about the increased energy prices on the island. "Pagatinu di awa" will be tested in August and then a try-out will be done with thirty customers," says Cijntje. “This allows households to purchase water based on their own financial resources.” After the try-out, the system will be available to everyone.
According to the minister, Aqualectra is also investigating the options for installing solar panels. It is important that the social housing foundation, the Fundashon Kas Popular (FKP) and the utility company start a close collaboration in the construction of social housing. “Then solar panels can be installed immediately,” says Cijntje.
