Minister Croes: No postponement of EFO test

Local | By Correspondent May 5, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - The EFO test for students in group 8 (final year for primary schools) will continue today. This is according to Education Minister Steven Croes in response to a survey by Fundashon KPEK.

The survey shows that more than one third of the teachers argue in favor of postponing the End of Primary School Assessment (EFO). Almost 70 percent of teachers indicated that their students are not yet ready for the test. The students would be even less prepared than last year, and the EFO was canceled.

The minister thinks differently. “An inventory has been made of whether there are any arrears in group 8 and that turns out to be much better than anticipated,” he indicated. "In fact, the students only missed a few days as a result of the lockdown." He also says he has not received any specific requests for postponement from the schools.

The Expertise Center for Tests & Exams has announced that the students will be given 15 minutes extra time for each test.
