WILLEMSTAD - During the press conference, the Minister of Education Sithree van Heydoorn addressed the increasing violence in schools on Thursday. Several videos appeared on social media this week showing fights at schools.
According to the minister, the government is developing a special program for families. “Aggression at school is an expression of a problem that originated at home,” says Van Heydoorn.
He also emphasizes that it is very important that safety in schools can be guaranteed. Supervision is crucial here. For example, cameras have been placed and there are officers who can intervene on the spot in violent situations.
