Minister of Education files complaint against opposition MP

Local | By Correspondent September 25, 2019

WILLEMSTAD - The Minister of Education Marilyn Alcalá-Wallé, in response to the declaration of Charles Cooper from the opposition party MFK, filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor against the MP.

Alcalá-Wallé accuses Cooper and other MFK members of libel and defamation.

The Minister says that Cooper does not have the right to accuse her of anything since he himself has a dubious past. This is about the questionable way of issuing land at Caracasbaai to a "large investor" and various other properties at Knip and Playa Abou to investors.

According to the Minister, all this took place without the proper rules and procedures of good governance. This means that Cooper won’t even pass a background check or a screening if he wants to become a minister himself.
