WILLEMSTAD - All schools must have a safety plan. For this, the school can collaborate with the neighborhood, the police and other relevant parties to structurally improve safety around and in the school.
Minister Marilyn Alcalá-Wallé of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (OWCS) said this at the conference in honor of the opening of the new school year. This year the conference focused on safety in and around schools. A cooperation protocol was also signed between the Minister of OWCS, that of Justice and the Public Prosecution Service.
During her opening address, the minister emphasized that safety is of great importance "in schools in Curaçao and certainly in public schools".
