WILLEMSTAD - The Minister of Traffic and Transport, Zita Jesus-Leito denies that the government is busy making it possible for the Uber taxi system to be introduced in Curaçao. This is a system where people can order a taxi through an app and where many people can work as a taxi driver.
The minister foresees that the system will have too many negative consequences for the income of the current taxi drivers.
Earlier reports had appeared in the media that the minister would support the introduction of Uber. She clearly denied that yesterday.
