Local | By Correspondent January 13, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - Minister Dorothy Pietersz-Janga of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN) has recovered from Covid-19. The ministry reports that Pietersz-Janga has been back at work since Wednesday morning.

On December 31, the minister confirmed on her Facebook page that she tested positive for the virus. “Right now I'm in isolation. My health is stable and improving slowly.” She emphasized at the time that it is important that people adhere to the measures and stay at home as much as possible.

Pietersz-Janga came under fire several times because she never announced whether she has been vaccinated or not. Recently, she was also the big absentee at press conferences about COVID-19. Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas previously announced during a press moment that the minister has been removed from the Covid file.

In a short press release, the ministry announced that Pietersz-Janga has now recovered. Due to the current Time-Out, she can only be reached by phone or email for the time being.
