WILLEMSTAD – MFK party president Sithree van Heydoorn has confirmed that, for the time being, Shalten Hato will assume responsibility for the Ministry of Governance, Planning and Services (BPD) within the Pisas III Cabinet.
According to Van Heydoorn, the leadership of Movementu Futuro Kòrsou is scheduled to meet later this week to discuss potential candidates who could be considered for appointment as minister of BPD. At present, however, no individual has yet been formally approached for the post.
The BPD portfolio became vacant after former minister Kimberly Lew-Jen-Tai stepped down. Her resignation followed the launch of an investigation by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in which she is reportedly considered a suspect.
Until a permanent appointment is made, Minister Hato will oversee the BPD portfolio to ensure continuity in governance and public administration. The MFK leadership has indicated that further decisions regarding the ministry will be communicated once internal consultations have been completed.
