WILLEMSTAD - Finance Minister Javier Silvania has gone abroad for medical reasons. The minister announced this in a Facebook message.
Meetings and other appointments are held online or rescheduled. The minister held an online meeting with his advisers on Monday about the legislative calendar. In the calendar, the Ministry of Finance sets different deadlines for projects and bills that will be dealt with in the coming period. With the help of the overview, the ministry can check whether the correct agreements and legislation are being acted upon.
Minister of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning (VVRP) Charles Cooper would replace Silvania during his absence. Since the minister attends his appointments online, Cooper's commitment does not appear to be necessary.
It is not known when Silvania will be back in Curaçao. The government wishes him a speedy recovery.
