WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Justice is once again carrying out a repatriation flight for Venezuelans from Curaçao. The flight is scheduled for December 21 and will be the last repatriation flight to Venezuela this year.
The borders between Venezuela and Curaçao are still closed, and no commercial flights are operated. Many Venezuelans are currently unable to travel back. In addition, there are undocumented Venezuelans staying in the foreigners' barracks at Sentro di Detenshon i Korekshon Kòrsou (SDKK) who are on the waiting list to be sent back to their country of origin.
In October, a plane with refugees left for Venezuela. The Ministry of Justice and the Directorate of Foreign Relations (DBB) are now again carrying out a repatriation flight in collaboration with the Venezuelan consulate.
Venezuelans who want to return to their native country can report to the office of the Curaçao Handling Agent in Pietermaai Parking Mall until December 5 at the latest. There they can buy a plane ticket.
