WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (OWCS) has received three recommendations for better policy on special education. Education minister Sithree van Heydoorn received the report from the committee on Thursday.
The main task of the committee is to carry out an independent evaluation of all documents concerning students in special education. The aim of the study is to determine whether all students belong in special education. For example, the orthopedagogical needs of young people were examined.
“All records of all students have been evaluated for the effectiveness of the help they receive, in all areas of education and also the social-emotional development of the student,” the ministry said. “In short, a holistic approach that includes all areas of development.”
