WILLEMSTAD - The 72-year-old Armand Griffith was found lifeless this morning. This was confirmed by police spokesman Imro Zwerwer. Last Saturday morning the family received a last sign of life after which nothing more was heard from him. He had gone for a walk around the salt pans of Sint Willibrordus.
Griffith's family has now been notified. The police cannot say anything about the cause of death.
Griffith reached out to his family by phone at the end of the morning on Saturday and then said he was lost and had no water. Since then he has been without a trace.
Volunteers, police officers and military personnel have been searching for the past few days, with the sad result that Griffith was found dead in the early morning hours.
