Local | By Correspondent June 18, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - Acting Governor of Curaçao, Michèle Russel-Capriles, has officially reopened the Mongui Maduro Museum. The museum was partly located in Landhuis Rooi Catootje.

In 2019, the Foundation behind the museum decided to carry out a thorough renovation of the mansion and redesign the museum.

Thamara Moreno-Vervuurt, the director of the Maritime Museum in Scharloo, has also developed a new permanent exhibition.

It tells the story of the last four owners of the mansion and the social, cultural and economic developments of Curaçao and the Caribbean since the 19th century.
