WILLEMSTAD - According to Maghali van der Bunt-George, everything must be done to achieve an equal quality of education within Curaçao and within the Kingdom.
Curaçao youth must have the same educational opportunities as other children and young people within the Kingdom.
Van der Bunt-George is chairman of Protestant Christian schools in Curaçao and gave a presentation at the new party Vishon. According to her, we should give our youth the opportunity to develop their talents to the maximum, not only cognitively, but also creatively and sportily.
Van der Bunt-George advocates implementing improvements based on thorough analysis and strategic policy. "We need to get involved with developments within the Kingdom, work together more, take a ride and make use of synergy. The Netherlands will certainly be prepared to provide support in the field of education, but for this Curaçao must have a solid plan and also ensure a decisive implementation thereof," said Van der Bunt-George.
She states that education funding has been inadequate for years. "There is no investment budget and the material funding is not sufficient." For Van der Bunt-George this is unacceptable.
