WILLEMSTAD - Last night the Rescue and Coordination Center (RCC) detected a suspicious radar contact at the south coast of Curaçao. The coast guard patrol along with the Curaçao militia went directly to the vessel to identify it.
Around 00:10 the coast guard patrol saw a yola type vessel with 6 men and 2 women on board. After checking, the patrol found 7 bales of suspected drugs. They also found 2 monkeys and 2 chickens aboard the boat.
The 8 people and the bales have been transferred to the Curacao Police (KPC). The animals have been transferred to the veterinary service.
