WILLEMSTAD - Several medical specialists are affected by the production ceiling set by the government this year.
The Rhuggenaath government wants to cut between 70 and 80 million guilders in health care this year. This means, among other things, that specialists are imposed a limit on the provision of care.
Urologist Willem Isa told the media yesterday that according to the Social Insurance Bank (SVB) he is already at 75 percent of the number of permitted treatments. According to Isa, this means that some of his patients cannot be treated this year.
Earlier, physiologist Prins already announced that he is almost reaching the production ceiling. The doctors have been informed by the SVB that they are near the maximum number of treatments. Both Prince and Isa say they are deeply sorry for the situation.
