WILLEMSTAD - Thanks to the unclear travel advice from the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, 27,000 passengers still left from Schiphol, the Netherlands to Curaçao between November last year and mid-January this year.
Conversely, more than 25,000 people flew back in the same period. The difference, nearly 1,500 passengers, got off on the way in St. Maarten. Mark Rutte gave negative travel advice at the time, with the exception of the Caribbean islands.
That has now been changed, Curaçao is code orange - only necessary travel - despite the fact that there are hardly any new infections.
