WILLEMSTAD - Jaanchie's financial situation was so bad that the restaurant was about to close its doors. Two Curaçaoans in the Netherlands could not stomach the fact that the oldest restaurant on the island would disappear. Jordan Pietersz Mcdonald and Carlton Manuel therefore started a crowdfunding campaign, which has already raised more than 9,000 euros.
Jordan Pietersz Macdonald and Carlton Manuel say about the action: "It is a kind of museum with all kinds of things from the past 85 years, it is a shame if that suddenly disappears."
Johnny and his father Jantje are overwhelmed by the action. Son Jonny says, "Daddy is very impressed, normally he is the charmer and he talks, but now he is speechless."
