WLLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) is adjusting its visiting hours for its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This entails extended visiting hours for parents, emphasizing family-centered care, as announced by the hospital.
Parents can now visit the NICU daily between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM. The change in visiting hours, according to CMC, promotes parental involvement in the care of their newborns.
"The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a critical department where the bond between parents and their newborns is of the utmost importance. By extending the visiting hours, we aim to provide families with the flexibility and support they need during what can be a challenging time," stated Naijla Duque, pediatrician, neonatologist, and head of service at CMC.
The new visiting hours will take effect from November 17.
