WILLEMSTAD - The new MRI scan of the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) has been out of service for months. All patients requiring a scan are currently being referred to Advent Hospital.
PNP Member of Parliament Elvin Gerard has asked for an explanation from health minister Dorothy Pietersz-Janga. The MRI scan has been out of service for months and Gerard wonders whether the minister is aware of this. The CMC is currently investigating the cause of the defect.
According to the coalition MP, the waiting lists is now five to six months. As a result, diagnoses may not be made until later, with potentially adverse consequences for patients.
