Multidisciplinary team closed down four businesses

WILLEMSTAD - The multidisciplinary team that carries out checks at companies closed four businesses over the weekend. A total of 39 businesses were checked.

Tita Kapsalon & Barbershop on the Santa Rosaweg had to close its doors yesterday because the business did not meet the requirements of its permit. A barbershop may not play loud music, sell alcoholic beverages and allow customers to eat and drink in the shop. According to the inspection department of the Ministry of Economic Development, entrepreneurial creativity is possible, but within the legal frameworks.

77 Fresh Food Center on Santa Rosaweg also had to close for two days on Saturday. The company did not adhere to the closing time. At 10:50 PM there were still customers inside. To mislead the control team, the doors were closed and the lights turned off. The owner was also fined for ignoring the closing time.

On Friday, the multidisciplinary team ordered that Heineken snèk on the Caracasbaaiweg be closed. Visitors to the popular snèk danced to loud music coming from a car. The car was parked in front of the catering business. Shortly before that, the Snek received a warning for this violation. When the control team returned, the owners of the business still hadn't intervened. As a result, the Snèk had to close the doors and send the customers away.

Finally, Grand Café Mahaai was closed for violating the closing time. Around 10.40 pm there were still customers on the terrace and inside the restaurant.

The checks last weekend were carried out by the inspection department of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Curaçao Police Force.
