ORANJESTAD - The crisis team of the Aruban government announced yesterday that at least ten cases of the British variant of Covid-19 have been found in Aruba, as well as three of the California West Coast mutation. This is evident from analyzes by the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).
It concerns infections that were established in January and all persons concerned are now virus-free. The British variant was already registered at the end of January. Curaçao subsequently introduced stricter measures for air traffic to and from Aruba.
The Aruban crisis team urges the population to continue to observe the corona rules in particular. Especially the use of the basic rules "keep your distance, wash your hands and use masks" prevents many infections.
