WILLEMSTAD - Several hospitality establishments and small supermarkets have been discovered to be in violation of regulations during a joint inspection conducted by the police, the Ministry of Health, Environment, and Nature (GMN), and the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO) on Friday. The inspection targeted various locations, including cafes, restaurants, and small supermarkets, according to a press release issued by the police.

These establishments were found to be engaged in illegal activities, such as selling unauthorized lottery numbers, and employing workers without the necessary permits. Additionally, some of these establishments were offering damaged goods for sale, raising concerns about consumer safety. Furthermore, issues related to improper food preparation practices and unhygienic kitchen conditions were also identified. In response to the lack of compliance with hygiene standards, immediate closures of non-compliant kitchens were enforced.

A total of twelve locations were meticulously inspected in Banda Riba. Out of these, only three were found to be in compliance with the regulations, while the remaining nine received official warnings regarding their non-compliance.

The police have affirmed their commitment to conducting ongoing inspections to ensure compliance with established guidelines and regulations. These efforts are aimed at upholding public safety, maintaining the integrity of the hospitality sector, and protecting consumers from potential risks associated with non-compliant establishments.
