WILLEMSTAD – Police and emergency services were kept busy on Sunday responding to several traffic accidents and medical incidents at various locations across Curaçao. Multiple people were injured, and ambulances were deployed in several cases.
On the Misa Alegreweg, a vehicle was involved in a traffic accident that resulted in at least one injured person. Emergency services provided assistance at the scene.
Another incident occurred on the Laurentius Mathildaweg, where a driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the wall of a building. The man sustained a head injury and required medical treatment.
On the Andrew Jonesstraat, a driver crashed into the fence of a residence, causing significant material damage. Police called in a crane to recover the vehicle, which was later transported to the storage facility in Seru di Mahuma.
In the Mahuma neighborhood, a man was injured while cutting wood when the branch he was standing on broke, causing him to fall. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
A separate traffic collision took place near Kas Chikitu in the Kolebra Bèrdè area, involving two vehicles. A woman suffered a leg injury and was treated on site by ambulance personnel.
In Dokterstuin, a female driver lost control of her vehicle and ended up in the roadside verge. An ambulance was dispatched, and the victim was treated at the scene before being taken to the hospital.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the various incidents and are again urging road users and residents to exercise caution to prevent accidents and injuries.
