WILLEMSTAD – A mural has been unveiled in the Fleur de Marie neighborhood in honor of Rignald Recordino, also known as Doble R, one of Curaçao’s most influential musicians. The artwork serves as a visible tribute to his decades-long contribution to Curaçao’s cultural and musical heritage.

Doble R boasts a music career spanning more than fifty years and is credited with over 700 compositions and arrangements. His work, written primarily in Papiamentu, is widely recognized for its lyrical depth and its role in strengthening Curaçao’s cultural identity. His influence extends beyond the island to Aruba, Bonaire, and the Netherlands.

The mural coincides with celebrations marking Doble R’s 50-year milestone in music and forms part of broader cultural initiatives aimed at honoring his legacy and lasting impact on Caribbean music and culture.

Earlier, another creative tribute dedicated to Doble R was unveiled at the Sta. Rosa roundabout, further underscoring his significance to the island’s artistic and cultural landscape.
