Nearly 100,000 people vaccinated

Local | By Correspondent September 7, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - While the population of Curaçao continues to vaccinate, at the same time it can be seen that the number of new infections per day is decreasing drastically.

The aim is to ensure that as many people as possible are fully vaccinated, so that the number of hospital admissions also decreases and that fewer people have to go to the Intensive Care Unit. Taking into account how the number of vaccinations is steadily increasing, it is likely that the 100,000 will be reached very soon.

Until yesterday there were 96,529 persons who had received their first vaccination and 97,631 persons were registered. This means that only 2,369 people are needed to reach 100,000 vaccinated people.

The number of people who have also received their second vaccination is on the right track. This illustrates that a person who gets his/her first vaccination will also come back for the second. Until yesterday there were 87,041 persons registered for their second vaccination.

In total, 183,570 vaccinations have been administered on Curaçao so far. This shows that Curaçao is on the right track and that the community is gradually becoming aware of the fact that vaccination is the only alternative to avoid getting very sick from COVID-19. The government of Curaçao is also trying to convey this message through all its channels.

For those who have not yet been vaccinated: the Vaccination Center at Sehos-Poli vaccinates every day from 08:30 in the morning to 17:30 in the afternoon.

For those coming for their second vaccination, Pfizer is set on Wednesday and Saturday and Moderna is set on Tuesday and Friday. Check your vaccination booklet which was included with the first vaccination.
