THE HAGUE – The Dutch cabinet has underlined that the Kingdom of the Netherlands is not a party to the ongoing military actions involving the United States and Venezuela and intends to maintain a neutral position while safeguarding regional security.
According to the government, the U.S. operation is a nationally directed mission, and there is no indication that it involves or targets the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom. Dutch authorities have also held discussions with the United States regarding airspace safety around Curaçao and Aruba to prevent unintended incidents.
While detailed risk assessments remain classified due to security sensitivities, the government maintains that the situation is under control and that cooperation within the Kingdom’s crisis-management structures remains strong.
