New 24-7 taxi service TSA starts today

Local | By Correspondent July 1, 2021

CruWILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao taxi organization Thirty Steps Association (TSA) will start today with the new reservation platform 24-7 Taxi Curaçao. Convenience is paramount: customers can discuss a taxi at a predetermined rate via app, website or by calling 9-247.

Yesterday the festive launch took place in the Queens Ballroom of the Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort. Ministers Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia (SOAW and MEO), Charles Cooper (VVRP) and Sithree van Heydoorn (OWCS) were also present.

The new taxi service will initially start with 45 taxis, but this number will be expanded as demand increases. The TSA members can be identified by their cars and uniforms, with proof of their taxi license and ID.

The taxi association has entered into a partnership with Securitas Antias. TSA supplies the cars and Securitas is responsible for the software and a 24/7 central control room. Securitas director Jeroen Kibbelaar explained the operation of the new booking platform during the launch yesterday. In addition to the option to request a taxi with information about the number of people and luggage, the app also provides information such as what time the taxi will arrive; what to do to change the reservation and what to do if he did not arrive at the agreed time.

Taxi rides can also be requested online through the website or by calling 9-247. The customer will then receive an SMS notification that the taxi has arrived. The driver can be paid with cash or bank card. The rates of various routes are indicated in advance and are then fixed, regardless of delay due to traffic congestion, for example.
