WILLEMSTAD - The Cultural Heritage Agency and IHS, a Rotterdam institute for urban management and housing, have organized a masterclass on heritage together with the American company Heritage Strategies International (HSI). The so-called Main Street approach was introduced during the meeting.

Main Street is a program established by the US National Fund for Historic Preservation that provides a framework for economic development in heritage areas. Developments are examined on the basis of the points of organization, design, promotions and economic vitality.
Curaçao will host the masterclass on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Curaçao Monument Fund Foundation. Nearly forty local professionals and students take part in the World Heritage meets Main Street gathering.
The masterclass started on Tuesday and will last until Friday. The participants will present different recommendations for the designated heritage areas on the last day.
