ORANJESTAD - Yesterday, Aruban formateur Evelyn Wever-Croes announced the eight names of the nominated ministers in the Wever-Croes II cabinet. The formation assignment was thus completed 76 days after the elections.
Wever-Croes once again heads the cabinet as Prime Minister. Ursell Arends has been nominated as Deputy Prime Minister and also Minister of Integrity, Nature, Transport and Elderly Care. The Ministry of Finance and Culture will remain under Xiomara Maduro. Geoffrey Wever will assume the ministry of Economic Affairs and Rocco Tjon of Justice and Social Affairs. Endy Croes has been appointed as Minister of Education and Sports. Glenbert Croes will serve as Minister of Labor and Danguillaume Oduber will serve as Minister of Health and Tourism.
Guilfred Besaril has been nominated to continue to hold the position of Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba in the Netherlands. Besaril will continue negotiations with the Netherlands.
The Cabinet of the Governor has announced in an official statement that the formation assignment has been accepted and that the candidate ministers have been nominated.
Before the resignation of the incumbent ministers and the appointment of the new ministers, the draft National Decrees must first be submitted. Then it is up to the Speaker of Parliament to make a decision. If parliament does not object, the new ministers can be sworn in.
