WILLEMSTAD - After thirty days without new infections, two new corona cases were registered on Curaçao on Saturday and Monday. The first one concerns someone who has come from abroad and is in quarantine. The second one also came from abroad but was in contact with the first one.
Epidemiologist Dr. Izzy Gerstenbluth announced this during the briefings on Saturday and today.
For a long time, Curaçao had no more than sixteen infections. For more than two weeks, residents from abroad have been admitted again, as have people who are allowed to come because of their work. Everyone is required to be quarantined for 14 days and will be tested at the end of the period. The persons who tested positive have been placed in isolation. Some fellow travelers are being monitored, says Gerstenbluth.
