WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) has had a mural painted in the children's ward. It was unveiled yesterday. The aim is to make the department livelier.
In the design and storyline of the mural, a parakeet, Doctor Pedro, takes the children to different landscapes in Curaçao to get acquainted with all the different animals that live there.
“The children's ward, like all the others in the hospital, is very modern and beautiful, but we lacked some color to make our children and their parents happy,” says Claudia Rigaud, director of Ronald McDonald House Charities Curaçao.

The ideas came to life together with architect Omar Zimmerman and designers from Hirons Caribbean. “We are very proud of the result”, adds Marina de Miranda physiotherapist and member of the Mucha pa Mucha Foundation.
“This is a big change for us healthcare workers who work in the pediatric ward every day. We can now use the walls in a fun and interactive way to play sports with the kids too.
Three organizations have joined forces to make this project possible. Those are the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Mucha pa Mucha and the Clini Clowns.
