WILLEMSTAD - In recent weeks, several murals have been made in the streets of Otrobanda. The paintings are part of the preparations for the Kaya Kaya street festival.
Kaya Kaya is an initiative of Fundashon Ser'i Otrobanda and residents to unite the neighborhood, develop street culture and improve image and awareness.
In the months leading up to the festival, the neighborhood is being renovated and murals are being made. Nina Valkhoff and Jhomar Laoiza, among others, collaborated on the artworks.
Kaya Kaya takes place on August 27. The event has been canceled for the past two years due to the corona pandemic. The program will be announced at a later date.
