WILLEMSTAD - In recent months, the recruitment process for the succession of Eunice Saleh as President of the Court has taken place. On September 23, the majority of the Court of Justice voted in favor of the appointment of Mauritsz de Kort.
Saleh announced at the beginning of this year that she did not want to be considered for an extension of her term. Saleh's term as president of the court ends on January 1.
De Kort is currently Vice President of the Court. The board has sent the recommendation for the appointment as president to the ministers of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and the Netherlands. This will be discussed in the Kingdom Council of Ministers.
It is not yet known when the discussion in the Kingdom Council of Ministers will take place.
