WILLEMSTAD - The permanent unit of the Royal Netherlands Army in Curaçao has been replaced. The 34th rotation has been replaced by the 35th.
This unit will also stay in the Caribbean for four months. The previous military unit was much visible in Curaçao because of the stricter border security with the deployment of the Coastguard and Curaçao militia.
The new officers will stay on Curaçao in a new type of Defense uniform, the so-called "multicam jungle". The Netherlands will structurally give more funds for border security in Curaçao. This can amount to 39 million guilders.
