WILLEMSTAD - The Coast Guard is getting a new shore-based radar system for Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten. A number of aircraft, helicopters and cutters are also being replaced at the Coast Guard.
This was announced by Jan de Vin, former commander of the Navy in the Caribbean. He also believes that more people should work for the coast guard.
This is necessary to combat criminal networks and the unrest caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.
