Next week, appeal case Umpi Welvaart

WILLEMSTAD - Umpi Welvaart must in court again next week. According to the Public Prosecution (OM), the photographer of the Vigilante newspaper was involved in drug transport with his boat El Capo.

The court in First Instance acquitted him because the charges were not well-founded, there was too much doubt. Four and a half years in prison was then demanded by the prosecutor.

The session of October 15 is a pre-trial hearing in the appeal that the Public Prosecution Service has filed. Umpi Welvaart spent 104 days in jail.
