WILLEMSTAD - The Fundashon pro Monumento foundation has no confidence in the owner of Cinelandia.
This became clear yesterday during the handling of the case brought by the foundation against the decision of Minister Zita Jesus-Leito to demolish the dilapidated Art Deco building in Punda.
Fundashon pro Monumento wants a guarantee that it will be reconstructed when demolished, or at least that the front of the old theater will be restored. However, they have little faith that owner Fernando da Costa Gomez will do that of his own accord.
They therefore want to exert pressure through the court to ensure that the monument does not disappear completely.
